Eric M. Leslie, is 62 years old, married and in excellent health. Mr. Leslie obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western University in 1977. Mr. Leslie has lived in Calgary, Alberta for the past 40 years and has an extensive work history focused in the areas of management consulting, corporate governance, finance, operations and the structuring of both public and private companies.

After graduating from Western, Mr. Leslie began working in the oil and gas industry in 1978 as a negotiator for both major and small independent oil and gas companies, including PanCanadian, Amoco Canada and Phoenix Resources. At the age of 25, Mr. Leslie started his own oil and gas exploration company which specialized in acquisitions of producing oil properties. Since 1991, Mr. Leslie has been leveraging his contacts and extensive public and private company experience into fulfilling contracts and transactions through Merchant Equities Capital Corp. where he is the Principal. Merchant Equities provides venture capital financing advisory services and management consulting services primarily to early stage private and public companies. In 1995, Mr. Leslie co-founded Merchant Equities Investments Inc., a company that structured reverse takeovers / coordinated acquisitions and conducted financings of small to junior capitalization companies. Merchant Equities facilitated taking 20+ companies public on various stock exchanges in Canada. As part of the services rendered by Merchant Equities, Mr. Leslie has served as an officer and or director of numerous public companies over the past 30 years.

In 2003, Mr. Leslie co-founded, Vanguard Exploration Corp., an oil & gas company focused on exploring for high risk, prolific reef prospects in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. Under Mr. Leslie’s tenure as CEO, Vanguard raised $13.4 million in equity and $1 million in convertible debt. As a result of the exploratory nature of Vanguard’s drill targets and the downturn in the junior oil & gas sector, after achieving limited success with the drill bit, in 2007, Vanguard began divesting of its assets and wound down its activities.

Mr. Leslie is the Co-founder and Managing Director of TRION Energy Solutions Corp., a private U.S. based company that is focused on commercializing SiMoGraphTM, which is a drop-in, patented, advanced anode material, that is engineered to improve lithium-ion battery performance by over 35%. To date, $4.9M USD has been raised to advance TRION’s battery initiatives. Mr. Leslie is also an Entrepreneur-In-Residence at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology in Rapid City, South Dakota where TRION is commercializing its advanced SiMoGraphTM anode materials.

Mr. Leslie serves on the Advisory Board of Metamaterial Technologies Inc., a private, Halifax, Nova Scotia based technology company that is creating metamaterial films for application in the next generation of optical devices, including laser protection, energy-efficient light sources, affordable solar panels, and non-invasive medical imaging.
